SteelChief’s Dog Pen is designed with three key areas: an enclosed kennel, a verandah, and a surrounding secure enclosure.
For added comfort, we recommend including the optional Raised Timber Floor insert to keep your dog off the ground, providing better insulation and comfort. Additionally, consider our deck inserts for the verandah area to enhance the overall functionality and comfort of the pen.
Robust Construction
The pen includes SteelChief’s classic deep rib sheeting for the kennel walls, which provides durability and weather protection. The steel sheet is 0.35mm thick, making it thicker than other sheet profiles on the market, and protects your pet from wind, rain and sun. The enclosure is complemented by welded mesh which is supported by a 25mm x 25mm thick steel frame. This set up creates a secure and open environment, ensuring your dog’s safety while accommodating daily activities.
Enhanced Shelter with Verandah
A key feature of our Dog Pen is the verandah area, created by the protective roof that overshoots the kennel enclosure. This adds an extra layer of protection against slanted rain and direct sunlight, offering a shaded space for your dog to rest. This feature is designed to keep the kennel entrance dry and sheltered, enhancing the comfort and safety of your pet.
Preassembled Panels for Easy Setup
The kennel and verandah walls are delivered in preassembled panels, ensuring the installation process is straightforward and easy. These panels are engineered for strength, allowing you to quickly set up a secure and robust enclosure for your dog with minimal effort.

The Pen that is featured in the photographs is the Single, which means it has no divider but provides a large enough space to accommodate multiple pets. The Single offers a generous and secure area where one or more dogs can comfortably roam and play together, as long as they get along and the space suits their needs. Alternatively, we have a Double Dog Pen which includes a divider, allowing you to separate the space into two distinct areas for situations where dogs may need to be isolated from each other, whether for safety, training, or health reasons. Both types of pens are available in various sizes to accommodate different breeds and space requirements.
Dangerous Dog Classification?
Please note: The featured product on this page is not designed not meet the full requirements for Dogs Classified as dangerous according to Council. While our standard Dog Pens provide safe and secure environments for typical pets and large dogs, we offer upgrades to transform these into Dangerous Dog Enclosures, tailored to meet stricter safety standards as required by various states. These customized enclosures include several enhancements to ensure the utmost security:
- Increased Wire Mesh Diameter: Upgraded to 4.0mm for additional strength.
- Secure Roof Over the Run: Ensures complete enclosure and protection.
- Self-Closing and Locking Door: Adds an extra layer of security.
- Lockable Door: For controlled access.
- Graded Concrete Floor: To prevent digging and enhance cleanliness.
- Ample Space: At least ten square meters per dog, providing plenty of room to move.
- Secure Attachment to the Floor: Guarantees the structure remains fixed in place.

The Pen that is featured on this page is the Single – it has no divider. All of the provided sizes offer a generous and secure space for one or even multiple dogs that can comfortably roam and play together, as long as they get along and the space suits their needs. The range of sizes available (all the way up to the 3.12m x 4.24 Super Grand) provide you with a range of space options depending on your requirements and available space. We recommend measuring-out your area to help choose the right size for you. The size pictured is The Standard.

Delivery
Delivery is currently offered to most areas ins NSW, VIC, QLD and SA. Delivery costs are confirmed at check-out. The Pen is delivered to you as an easy-to-install set of panels and welded mesh sides that come pre-assembled. Alternatively you can opt for our delivery team to assemble the kennel for you on-site for an additional assembly fee.

Factory Delivery Timeframes
We strive to deliver your purchase in a timely manner using our dedicated company-operated transport network. Delivery times can vary based on several factors including our current order volume, truck availability, and your geographical location. Most orders are delivered within 2 to 3 weeks. We appreciate your patience as we work to ensure your product arrives in perfect condition. A staff member will contact you to provide a specific delivery timeframe, based on the unique circumstances of your order.
- Victoria – 2 to 3 weeks
- NSW – 3 to 4 weeks
- South Australia – 4 to 5 weeks
- QLD – 3 to 4 weeks
Pickup Option – Available but Not Recommended
When it comes to Dog Pens, Pickup is not generally recommended. The panels and welded mesh sides are large and may be heavy, and generally will require a truck. While Pickup options will be presented during Checkout, we recommend opting for Delivery. If Pickup is something that you must consider, then please ensure you speak to one of our staff to assist with requirements before purchasing your Dog Pen.

Returns & Changes – Made-to-Order Products
Because this product is built to your confirmed specifications:
- Orders may be amended or cancelled before manufacturing begins, subject to review.
- Once production has commenced, change-of-mind returns are not accepted.
- Delivery, installation and service fees are not refundable.
In limited circumstances, where a product has been manufactured exactly as approved but an error has occurred due to incorrect information supplied by the customer, SteelChief may, at its sole discretion, consider a partial resolution.
