HANDLING PANELS
SteelChief sheds are manufactured as pre-assembled panels. The panels need to be handled and stored carefully. Each panel should be moved in a vertical position and carefully lowered or raised flat onto/ from the ground. Do not carry panels in a horizontal way as they may bend and be damaged. Do not handle panels when the wind is blowing as damage may occur. If you are storing the panels (overnight), ensure they are protected from the wind. Laying flat on the ground with some heavy planks on top will usually be safe. If the wind is strong they should be kept inside a garage.

Orders cancelled after this point will forfeit the full payment.
ORDER ALTERATION POLICY
If you have made a wrong colour selection, or wish to change your order, please let us know immediately, and we may be able to alter your shed, if it has not already been prepared or built. SHIPPING & DELIVERY POLICY
Home delivery is available within Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo, and is included in the purchase price. In these locations, we also offer installation of the shed, for an additional fee, plus concreting, if required, also for an additional charge. If site preparation is required, a site visit and quotation may be necessary; just contact us via email at theboss@steelchief.com.au, or phone us on 03 5334 1954.
For locations outside of Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo, your shed will be shipped at no extra charge to one of our distributors at the town or city nominated by you (see drop down box on Shipping Details). We will advise you of the date it will arrive. You can then arrange to pick the shed up, or have it delivered by the distributor (if available), at a price agreed by you and the distributor.
In general, delivery times are 7 – 21 days from date of order, depending on location.
INSTALLATION CONDITIONS
CLEARED SITE
Prices are based on The Purchaser providing a cleared site level and flat ready for erection (unless specifically detailed otherwise in this contract.) If the site is not flat SteelChief will not be able to complete the installation. The Purchaser will in this case incur the additional cost of another delivery and installation.
SteelChief will then provide a quotation for preparing the site and agree on a new schedule. Normally this is costed at $80 per hour if it simply involves pick and shovel.
CONCRETE SITE PREPARATION
In addition to being flat, the site should be free of any plant matter and soft materials. Spreading and compacting a bed of crushed rock is recommended. If in doubt about your site, please contact the SteelChief sales office.
PEGGING OUT
SteelChief depends on the alignment as pegged by The Purchaser and no responsibility is accepted by SteelChief for incorrect pegging. Please allow for roof overhangs and consider where the water will run off the roof. Sheds greater than 10m2 requires a council permit in Victoria, 20m2 in New South Wales, and 15m2 in South Australia. Unless otherwise stated this is The Purchaser’s responsibility.
OBSTRUCTIONS
Installation pricing is based on the assumption of firm soil suitable for a concrete base, and no allowance has been made for any obstructions such as rock, concrete, tree roots, broken posts, underground pipes etc. If encountered, the cost of labour plus hire of any equipment to remove will be an additional charge to The Purchaser. Our installers would appreciate a clean site free from plant material, rubbish, toys, overhanging branches, dog debris, obstacles etc.
UNDERGROUND SERVICES
The Purchaser shall be responsible for locating and notifying SteelChief of the position of any services including electrical, telephone, water, gas, sewer, stormwater, irrigation or any like. These must be clearly identified and marked prior to the commencement of the job and The Purchaser shall indemnify SteelChief against any claims or demands made by any person or authority in respect of any damage caused by SteelChief in the course of the works if such location has not been accurately made. Please note that star pickets may be driven 750mm into the ground beside or in the shed.
MATERIALS PURCHASERS CHOICE
SteelChief does not warrant the suitability of any materials for the said project. The Purchaser hereby warrants that he has not relied on SteelChief’s description but that he has determined for himself the suitability of the materials for the said purpose.
FREE ACCESS
The Purchaser shall provide and maintain free and unfettered access to the site at all times and SteelChief shall not be liable for any damage to shrubs or trees or road or ground surface whatsoever.
UNFORSEEN DELAYS
The Company shall do all possible to complete the work by the stated time but shall not be held responsible for any hold ups due to strikes, delays of materials, bad weather or any other factors beyond its control. Under no circumstances will The Company be responsible for indirect losses or consequential losses. The Company will endeavour to complete the work at the earliest possible date. The Company recommends that The Purchaser does not make firm plans until the shed has been delivered in its entirety.
REASONABLE EXPECTATIONS
The Company will exercise due care to deliver the shed and the installation work so that the finished work is up to reasonable industry standards. The Purchaser acknowledges that steel sheets and trim may have minor scratches and dents which will not adversely effect the lifetime of the shed. The Purchaser also acknowledges that The Company does not warrant the concrete floors from cracking.
The Company will work in an orderly and safe way. Our workers will leave the site clean and tidy.
