About SteelChief & Where We Work
SteelChief is an Australian company based in Ballarat, Victoria — where every shed in our range is manufactured. We have five company-owned offices across eastern Australia and a network of display partners. The questions below cover where we are, where you can see a shed in person, and what to do if you're outside our service area.
Where is SteelChief based and where are sheds made?
SteelChief is an Australian company based in Ballarat, Victoria. Every shed in our range is manufactured in Ballarat - built to order using pre-assembled wall and roof panels before it ships out.
We also have company-owned offices in Melbourne (trading as ShedCraft), Sydney (Col Western Sheds in Gregory Hills), Adelaide and Brisbane. Wherever you buy from, the shed itself is made in Ballarat - there is no regional manufacturing.
Where can I see a SteelChief shed in person?
We have five company-owned locations where you can see SteelChief products in person:

We also work with display partners - BruceWorks in Canberra/ACT, Tipples on the Mornington Peninsula, and ShedQuarters in the Newcastle area - who carry SteelChief products.
If you cannot make it to one in person, get in touch and the sales team can send physical colour samples to help you make your final choice - particularly useful for darker shades or when matching an existing building.
Do you service my area?
We service most of eastern Australia within about a 1.5 to 2 hour drive of our offices and display partners. The regions we are confident we cover:

Within those states there are still parts we do not reach. The simplest way to check your specific address is to share your postcode with the sales team - they will confirm what is available where you are.
Do you cover Tasmania, WA, the NT, or far-north Queensland?
Not directly. We do not currently have a service presence in:
- Tasmania
- Western Australia
- Northern Territory
- North of Gympie in Queensland (our QLD service area runs as far north as Gympie / Sunshine Coast)

Can I still buy a SteelChief shed if I'm outside your service area?
Yes. We can build your shed and have it ready for pickup from any of our network locations - company offices or distributors. You arrange your own transport from the pickup point and handle installation yourself or with a local installer.
This works well for customers in WA, Tasmania, NT, or any other area outside our practical drive radius. Get in touch with the sales team to confirm the most convenient pickup point and timing.
